DFK to Pawlenty: Appropriations must increase for wet food, tunaST. PAUL (JAN. 27, 2007) — Gov. Tim Pawlenty’s 2007-08 budget falls critically short of supporting several programs critical to the continued strength and cuteness of Minnesota, Democratic-Farmer-Kitten chair Louise Pelzknoedel said today. “If he’s already going to the store, he can pick up some Fancy Feast or maybe some wild-caught tuna packed in water,” Peltzknoedel told a press conference attended by KMSP, Cat Fancy and the Star Tribune. “It’s not that hard.” “He’s already increased litter-box taxes — I’m sorry, ‘fees’ — by more than 300 percent last year. Why are Minnesota‘s working prides paying these tail-breaking fees? There needs to be more salmon to show for it.” Ron Carey, Minnesota Republican Party chair, responded: “The DFK is the party of negativity and no new ideas. They will not work with the governor because they are so negative and have no new ideas.” In response, Pelzknoedel said, “What does that even mean? Carey's a tool. Focus-grouped slogans are not ideas.” Then she wondered out loud which party really had brains the size of walnuts. |
